Dr. Gary Podhaisky
Dr. Gary Podhaisky, MD, FAAP. I have been fortunate to care for children and families as a pediatrician for nearly 30 years. From 1999 to 2007, I practiced in Henderson and the Las Vegas Valley, eventually opening my own practice, South Valley Pediatric Center, in Henderson. During those years, I met Dr. Carrie Wijesinghe when we were both relatively new to the area, and we developed a wonderful collaborative relationship while caring for families in the community. After spending the past 19 years practicing pediatrics in Eastern Washington, where I was honored to be voted Best Pediatrician in the Tri-Cities in 2022, I am excited to return to Henderson and finally have the opportunity to work alongside Dr. Carrie and the team at Siena Pediatrics.
I am board-certified in pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and I have also completed professional training in life and parent coaching. One of the things I have come to appreciate most over my career is that caring for children also means supporting the people who love and care for them. My additional coaching training has strengthened the way I listen, communicate, and help parents navigate the many questions and uncertainties that come with raising children. I especially enjoy getting to know families, teaching, and helping parents feel more knowledgeable and confident as their children grow.
Outside of medicine, I am the father of three adult children and a proud grandfather. I love learning, staying active, running, hiking, traveling, and experiencing different cultures. My travels have taken me to many parts of the world, and I even had the opportunity to live in Brazil for a time and learn Portuguese. Returning to Henderson feels both familiar and new, and I am grateful for the opportunity to reconnect with a community that holds many wonderful memories for me while getting to know a new generation of Siena Pediatrics families.
